Description

Chicha Hapé takes its name from Chicha — the traditional fermented or unfermented plant beverage that has been central to Andean and Amazonian indigenous cultures for over 5,000 years. Made primarily from maize (Zea mays), fermented yuca, or other starchy plants, Chicha carries deep cultural significance across Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil as a social, ceremonial, and nutritional preparation.

In hapé tradition, Chicha-related blends incorporate fermented plant materials — primarily from the maize fermentation process — that add a distinctive earthy, slightly sour botanical character to the snuff. Blended with Nicotiana rustica tobacco and fermented plant ash, Chicha Hapé has a complex, multi-layered profile that reflects the traditions of Andean-Amazonian border communities where both maize cultivation and hapé practice intersect.

Among the 14 hapé varieties in the Supernatural Forest collection, Chicha Hapé stands out for its uniquely fermented botanical character. It appeals to practitioners who appreciate the depth and complexity of single-origin, culturally significant hapé blends.
